Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil Certification (MSPO)

MSPO is Malaysia's national sustainability certification scheme which seeks to promote sustainable development of the palm oil industry spanning oil palms plantations, independent and organized smallholdings, and palm oil processing facilities. The scope of MSPO includes Transparency, Legal and Regulatory Compliance, Best Production Practices, Environmental Responsibility, Commitments to Local Community Development, Human Rights and Land Rights. In addition, MSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard (SCCS) which is complementary to MSPO Part 4 entails traceability throughout the palm oil value chain from growers to customers.

As an oil palms company operating in Malaysia, SOPB is committed to the adoption of MSPO Certification as the primary sustainability standard. The Group actively participates in the MSPO Technical Working Committee for Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Certification, Expert Working Group for MSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard (SCCS) and MSPO National Steering Committee under Ministry of Primary Industries through Sarawak Oil Palm Plantation Owners Association (SOPPOA).

All SOPB palm oil mills and estates are fully MSPO certified under MSPO Part 4 (MS2530-4: 2013), Supply Chain Certification Standard (SCCS) and MSPO Part 3 (MS2530-3: 2013) respectively and will undergo re-certification periodically.
