MIRI, 19 April – SOP Foundation successfully concluded its blood donation drive at Boulevard Shopping Mall, Miri, collecting a total of 124 pints of blood from 153 registered donors. Among them were 31 first-time donors, and 6 individuals stepped forward to register as organ donors – a powerful display of compassion and community spirit.

The event marks a meaningful contribution to the local blood supply and reinforces SOP Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community health and well-being.

Iris Yong, representing SOP Foundation, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all donors and supporters. “This achievement is a testament to the power of community collaboration,” she said. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time and effort.”

She also acknowledged the vital support of the Blood Transfusion Unit Miri, the Malaysian Red Crescent Society Miri Chapter, and Boulevard Shopping Mall Miri, whose partnerships were instrumental in ensuring the event’s success.

As a token of appreciation, each donor received a 2kg bottle of Merris Lite Pure Vegetable Oil and a goodies bag, reflecting SOP Foundation’s gratitude for their life-saving contributions.

This drive is part of SOP Foundation’s biannual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, with similar efforts also carried out in Bintulu. The next drive in Miri is scheduled for 8 November 2025, at Boulevard Shopping Mall.

In addition, Iris took the opportunity to highlight SOP Foundation’s upcoming event – the Healthy Strides Run, happening on Sunday, 27 April 2025. “We welcome everyone to join in the fun – whether you’re running or just there to cheer the crowd on,” she added.
