SOP Group aims to source and produce safe, high quality and sustainable palms product throughout the supply chain. To achieve this, we are working closely with our palm products suppliers to build a traceable, transparent and sustainable palm oil supply chain by 2020.

We believe that 100% traceability to plantation is achievable. SOP Group aims to be fully traceable through collaborations and engagements with our palm products suppliers and customers. First and foremost, SOP Group is firmly committed to adopt the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) Certification Scheme as the main standard and encourage its suppliers to comply with this commitment.

Traceability

As of 2014, we have achieved full traceability to SOP Group plantations.

The traceability system has been verified by an independent certification body. The traceability status of SOP Group and 3rd party suppliers are as listed.

(a) SOP Group

  • 100% traceable to SOP Group plantations.

(b) 3rd Party Suppliers

  • CPO: 100% traceable to the Mills.
  • PK: 100% traceable to the Mills.
  • FFB: 100% traceable and in the course of mapping their site-specific locations.

SOP Group’s mills source FFB from SOPB plantations and 3rd party suppliers. We are working with 3rd party mills in collaboration with an independent body to help our suppliers to achieve full Traceability to Plantation (TTP) complemented by the MSPO Trace System which acts as certification monitoring and tracing platform. We hope to achieve full traceability throughout our supply chain by the end of 2021.

The FFB purchased from 3rd party suppliers such as smallholders, outgrowers and collection centres are deemed 100% traceable as we have the respective Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) license recorded where essential information such as name, address and farm hectares of the plantations are stated. With the implementation of the MSPO Trace, the traceability information recorded is expected to be enhanced by supply chain mapping required in the system.
