MiriSOP Foundation awarded 189 exceptional students from various secondary schools in Sarawak with its Young Achievers Award (YAA).

To mark this occasion, SOP Foundation hosted a handover ceremony in the region of Marudi at SMK Marudi. Recognising the diverse and often remote locations of the schools, SOP Foundation took the initiative to ensure that the award presentations were made personally in each area, including Lambir, Bakong, Niah, Tatau, Sebauh, and Sg. Asap.

SOP Foundation believes deeply in the transformative power of education and chose to honour students who excelled in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations. Through the YAA programme, these students received cash awards and certificates as inspiration and motivation for local youth to pursue their academic goals.

SOP Foundation prioritises educational support, especially in underserved rural communities. The Foundation is dedicated to helping underprivileged children realise their educational aspirations and fostering a passion for learning.

Since 2016, SOP Foundation has recognised and awarded a total of 1,581 deserving students through the YAA programme.

While SOP excels in the oil palm sector, SOP Foundation also actively engages with local communities through various initiatives, including the Student Adoption Programme (SAP), SOP Foundation Vision Care Project, Choral Speaking Competition and the Healthy Strides Malaysia in collaboration with the Healthy Strides Foundation Australia.
