MIRI, 24 June –  As part of its ongoing commitment to talent development and industry-academic collaboration, Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOP) recently hosted an Academic Industrial Visitation for students from the Faculty of Diploma in Plantation Management, I-CATS Miri.

Hosted at the SOP Academy and Lambir Palm Oil Mill, the delegation had over 30 students accompanied by Ts. Mohammad Izzudin, a lecturer from the faculty together with Mr. Asri bin Haji Salim.

The visit aimed at providing students of Plantation Management deeper insight into the palm oil industry through an informative session delivered by SOP’s in-house engineer, which was then followed by a thorough guided tour in the mill. During the visit, students learned firsthand on how palm oil is transformed into everyday items through a product demonstration.

Ts. Mohammad Izzudin said, “Lambir Palm Oil Mill has consistently been the ideal location for bringing my students on field visits. These visits significantly improve their understanding of the subject matter.”

SOP is committed to educational programs that provide future professionals with knowledge and hands-on experience relevant to the industry.
