Sarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOPB) participated in AgriCop 2022-2023, an outreach program organized by the Sarawak Department of Agriculture (DOA), held from 20–21 October at Long Atip, a village in Baram within the Telang Usan District. The event was officiated by Dato Sri Dr. Stephen Rundi Anak Utom, Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture and Regional Development, and was well attended by approximately 250 community members. Representing the Group, Sustainability and Conservation Manager (SCM) Marcie Elene delivered a presentation titled Kemampanan Kelapa Sawit (“Sustainable Oil Palms”), where she shared SOPB’s practical experience in applying technology and sustainability principles within oil palm plantations. Her presentation emphasized the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and highlighted the Group’s commitment to certification standards, including the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) and the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC). The engagement reinforced SOPB’s dedication to responsible, inclusive, and certified palm oil production.

By continuously conducting these engagement programmes, SOPB not only fulfills MSPO’s inclusion requirements but also empowers smallholders, strengthens certification compliance, and enhances the overall sustainability of its supply chain.
