MIRI, 6 MAR – Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP) celebrated Chinese New Year with a vibrant and memorable gathering at The Cliff House, the residence of Tan Sri Datuk Ling Chiong Ho (林昌和). The celebration brought together registered almost 200 employees and their families, creating an evening filled with cultural unity, festive joy, and meaningful connection.

The event was honoured by the attendance of Tan Sri Datuk Ling Chiong Ho, Group Business Advisor, Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Paul Wong (黄希光), together with Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Eric Kiu (邱冠森), who personally welcomed guests upon arrival. Their presence, along with several of SOP’s Head of Departments, reflected the company’s strong commitment to togetherness and inclusivity at every level of the organisation.

Guests enjoyed a lively programme featuring energetic lion dances, traditional cultural performances, and engaging entertainment for all. To amplify the festive spirit, the evening also included a lucky draw session and a cheerful angpao distribution for employees’ children, creating excitement and smiles throughout the crowd.

During his address, Mr. Eric Kiu highlighted the deeper meaning of the celebration, stating:
“Chinese New Year is a time of renewal, reflection, and hope for the year ahead. It is also a time to appreciate the people around us — those who support us, work alongside us, and share in both the challenges and achievements along the way.”
