MIRI, 22 MAYSarawak Oil Palms Berhad (SOP) welcomed students from the Faculty of Business Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Samarahan to its Miri Office for an academic visit, providing them with practical exposure to corporate governance, financial management, and responsible business practices. The programme reflects SOP’s continued commitment to educational development and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.

During the session, students were introduced to SOP’s corporate functions, financial management, and sustainability initiatives through a series of knowledge-sharing presentations. Topics covered included corporate governance frameworks, financial reporting processes, business ethics, and corporate social responsibility, offering students first-hand insight into how these practices are applied in a corporate environment.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to connect academic learning with real-world business operations. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of transparency, accountability, and ethical decision-making in supporting long-term business sustainability and organisational resilience.
