Bintulu  – Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP) proudly unveiled its latest achievement, the Refinery & Fractionation Plant 2, during an esteemed visit by YB Datuk Seri Johari Bin Abdul Ghani, Minister of Plantation and Commodities (KPK). The event showcased SOP Group’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the palm oil industry.

The day commenced with a plant visit led by YB Datuk Seri Johari Bin Abdul Ghani, accompanied by his delegates and top officials from the ministry. The visit provided an opportunity for the honourable minister to witness firsthand the cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices implemented at the new facility.

Following the insightful plant tour, the opening ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from COO Eric Kiu, who expressed his pride and gratitude for the dedication of SOP Group’s team members and the support of esteemed partners and stakeholders. “Today marks a significant milestone for SOP Group as we continue our journey towards becoming a fully integrated oil palm plantation company in Sarawak. The inauguration of Refinery & Fractionation Plant 2 reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the palm oil industry,” said Eric Kiu.

YB Datuk Seri Johari Bin Abdul Ghani commended SOP Group for its contributions to the palm oil sector and emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in driving industry growth. “I am impressed by SOP Group’s dedication to sustainability and innovation. The inauguration of Refinery & Fractionation Plant 2 is a testament to their commitment to excellence and environmental stewardship,” remarked the honourable minister.

The event culminated with a sumptuous lunch hosted at the newly inaugurated refinery plant, where attendees had the opportunity to network and celebrate this momentous occasion.
