Contingents from six estates and one mill within the Tinbarap Region marched proudly at the Tinbarap 5 estate.
MIRI- In a vibrant display of unity and camaraderie, Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP) continued its exciting telematch event tour, spreading joy and entertainment to the regions of Taniku, Tinbarap and Telabit. This round, the telematch brought together the employees from 10 estates and 1 mill held at 3 different venues, to promote a healthy lifestyle, building teamwork and connecting the SOP Family.
This telematch series was specially crafted to commemorate SOP’s 55th Anniversary, featuring participation from all estates and mills across SOP Group. Scheduled monthly throughout 2023, the telematch featured a wide range of engaging activities designed to cater to participants of all ages and fitness levels, provides an opportunity for employees to showcase their skills and talents.
Selvarajah A/L Lurdusamy, Plantation Controller, officiated the Tinbarap Region Telematch held at Tinbarap 5 estate expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are thrilled to celebrate SOP 55th Anniversary with an action-packed telematch. This event not only underscores our dedication and commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and teamwork but also provides a platform to honour our outstanding employees through various awards, recognising their exceptional contributions to the SOP‘s success.”
The one-day event was brimming with diverse array of activities. Participants engaged in mini-games, dance and karaoke performances, tug of war, sports competition, award presentation ceremonies, attractive lucky draw and much more.
Beyond the exhilarating Telematch activities, the celebration also included the presentation prestigious employee awards. These awards recognised the remarkable achievements of individuals in categories such as Best Harvesters, Best Lorry Drivers, Best General Workers, Best Mill Operators, and Best Tractor Drivers, among others. The recipients’ dedication and exceptional performance contributed significantly to the company’s growth and success.
